Speechless is a perfect way to describe me right now, courtesy of tonight’s LOST finale. After spending six maddening seasons with a slew of characters I had cared for its difficult to wrap up my feelings of having to say goodbye. As a fan of the show from the beginning, I have avoided blogging or recapping [...]
Wowsa! 2010 has sure been a whirlwind for the latest actress to secure the title of ‘America’s Sweetheart‘ Sandra Bullock. An Oscar, a Razzie, an adultery scandal, a number one comedy and the sheer ability to hide from the overzealous paparazzi just describes a small percentage of what Ms. Bullock has been through over the past [...]

Unless you have been living under a pop culture avoiding rock, you might have heard about the movement to get Betty White to host “Saturday Night Live“. The award for foot in mouth syndrome goes to John Mayer. The musician, who would obviously prefer to be a stand up comic, has managed to offend nearly every human being with his latest interview with Playboy Magazine. Self-aware and attention craving Mayer held nothing back in the article where he discussed his time with his famous exes Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson, whom he described as “sexual napalm” and “addictive”. Mayer openly discussed the affect of his “womanizer” and “douchebag” status has had on both his personal life and career, but didn’t try to avoid further controversy when he declared that his penis was similar to David Duke, a white supremacist, with its preference for white chicks. And to add insult to injury, Mayer said he understands the black experience, considering himself an honorary black person, used the N-word and said that he was given a “hood pass”. The musician seemed to be completely unaware that any of his statements could be deemed hurtful or racist was sent a rude awakening yesterday when a handful of celebrities, like Talib Kweli and Perez Hilton, as well as journalists, called out the musician for his offensive comments. Mayer has since apologized for using the N-word within the interview and if any of his comments were found to be offensive. He also attempted to explain the interview as a “quest to be clever” at a performance in Nashville last night, where he continued to backpedal on some of his remarks. When Saturday Night Live is on, its on and the past two weeks have been pretty darn near classic episodes. Last week Jon Hamm visited and helped make one of the funniest episodes in years, with his skit as newly inaugurated Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown and in a perfect Digital Short with him as a sexy [...]

Sadly, tonight marked Conan O’Brien’s last night behind the desk of “The Tonight Show” and I’m not going to lie, I got teary eyed. After all the nonsense and all the snark going around the past couple of weeks regarding NBC’s Late Night Wars 2.0, there is something to be said about the goodbye O’Brien gave to his fans tonight. As a fan of Conans for years, it was incredibly touching to see how important the show, his staff and his fans are to him. To watch someone have to say goodbye to something that they had worked hard for years for and seemed to love every moment of was painful. Quite honestly, I will not be able to say it as eloquent as O’Brien said it himself, so here he is thanking everyone, including NBC, for their time and support over the years. It’s here! When I heard that they were going to make a film based on the hilarious SNL “MacGruber” sketches, I wasn’t sure what to think. In typical movie adaptation of a one minute skit style, MacGruber could be hysterical or it could be a tragedy to my sense of humor. I was hoping for more of an Anchorman feel, but from the freshly released trailer it seems that the movie will definitely be much more along the lines of Get Smart with Steve Carrell. And it costars Val Kilmer as the villain, which makes an automatic classic in my book. The movie doesn’t hit theaters till April of this year, so we have plenty of time to assume if this will be a box office success or not. Check out the trailer after the jump.
