One word comes to mind when I think of Conan O’Brien after the late night debacle and that’s classy. While the one-time employee of NBC had to sign a non-defamatory agreement when he left NBC this year, I would assume his discussion about his previous employers and Jay Leno would remain respectful even if he hadn’t. [...]
Woohoo! TBS, in an attempt to prove to us that they are in fact “Very Funny”, has officially added Conan O’Brien to its roster. The comedian will once again join the late night fold with a nightly hour-long program, set to air at 11PM, beginning this November. Currently, George Lopez has the time slot on basic [...]
Maybe you heard something about this little old bill that got signed into law this Tuesday? You know the one that will reform health care on our nation and make it an affordable option for all of us bozos who don’t have the luxury of say, working for the government? Well our Vice President was so [...]

Sadly, tonight marked Conan O’Brien’s last night behind the desk of “The Tonight Show” and I’m not going to lie, I got teary eyed. After all the nonsense and all the snark going around the past couple of weeks regarding NBC’s Late Night Wars 2.0, there is something to be said about the goodbye O’Brien gave to his fans tonight. As a fan of Conans for years, it was incredibly touching to see how important the show, his staff and his fans are to him. To watch someone have to say goodbye to something that they had worked hard for years for and seemed to love every moment of was painful. Quite honestly, I will not be able to say it as eloquent as O’Brien said it himself, so here he is thanking everyone, including NBC, for their time and support over the years. Well its finally official. Like signed on the dotted line official. Conan O’Brien and NBC will no longer be working together. O’Brien has signed a $45 Million deal to vacate “The Tonight Show”, along with his 200 staffers. O’Brien’s last show will be this Friday night, with guests Tom Hanks, Will Ferrell (who might have cursed [...]

Just after I finally finished my long post all about the debacle going on at NBC, Conan O’Brien released a heartfelt statement, which outlines his next steps. O’Brien explained that he knew about the possible switch since last Thursday and that if NBC does indeed move “The Jay Leno Show” to 11:35PM, he will no longer call NBC or “The Tonight Show” his home. O’Brien goes on to say that he believes that NBC is not only tarnishing their current late night lineup with this 52-week strategy, but my moving “The Tonight Show” from its home for decades would devalue the franchise all together. Conan confirms that if Leno does receive the coveting time slot, he will not be following him. Conan is pissed, which he should be, and now it appears that Leno is feeling bad about the whole thing. As of now, O’Brien will be doing the show tonight, but what tomorrow brings who knows? At this point, all that we know is the executives behinds the scenes of the Peacock network have some serious explaining to do and must learn how to do this type of stuff quietly to avoid a damaging scandal like this.

If you have been living under a rock, you might have missed the hot mess that is the battle for NBC Late Night programming. As we reported last week, NBC has “canceled” Jay Leno’s 10PM show and the rumors began swirling that the chinanator would be returning to the 11:35 PM time slot, currently occupied by The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. Jeff Gaspin, chairman of NBC Universal TV, confirmed that Jay Leno will no longer have a place in their primetime programming at the Winter TCA press tour this past Sunday. Gaspin blamed the shift on affiliates, who have been complaining about the poor ratings their local news programs were getting following Leno’s show, and went on to say, “The Tonight Show” in May, would be getting the heave ho. Gaspin said, “My goal right now is to keep Jay [Leno], Conan [O'Brien] and Jimmy [Fallon] as part of our late-night lineup. As much as I’d like to tell you we have a done deal, we know that’s not true.”
For all of us Conan O’Brien fans, we were left wondering, much like O’Brien himself, where his show would end up. Insiders from both teams were implying that NBC wanted to bring back Leno to the 11:35PM time slot, push “The Tonight Show” to 12:05PM (essentially making it the tomorrow show on the east coast) and then pushing the rest of the late night lineup back a half an hour. This time slot shift wouldn’t affect Jimmy Fallon and his show, which is a hit with the younger and DVR loving set, but for Conan it would be a real kick in the face. O’Brien uprooted his staff, crew and family to LA early last year to make the move to “The Tonight Show” and there hasn’t been much thanks from NBC since. Ratings have been a problem for both Leno and O’Brien in their new time slots and Conan poked fun at the late night mess last night with his monologue, discussing other opportunities the late night host can look forward to if he no longer has a home on NBC.

UPDATED: According to TMZ, who apparently now rules the Hollywood rumor mill, NBC has given a choice to Conan O’Brien about his fate at the “Tonight Show”. O’Brien can either allow Leno’s show to make the move to 11:35PM, making him the lead in to their late night and start his show at 12:05, or give [...]
