It’s pretty difficult to turn your first sketch on Saturday Night Live into a memorable one, but Jenny Slate did just that last night. Slate, one of the two new cast members this season, was doing her best to bring the funny to a tired sketch last night and she dropped the F-bomb in a sea of the word frickin. Totally explainable how being nervous about being on major live TV mixed with the years of underground comedy and having to say the word freakin 100 times could lead a girl to slipping out the F-bomb. And since the slip was not during prime time, odds are NBC and SNL will not be fined for the word.


I say bravo to Jenny for creating buzz for herself and the show, even if it was a mistake. Some of my favorite skits from Saturday Night Live have been more because of the mistakes or slip ups as opposed to their content. Its pretty impressive to become a household name overnight and thanks to the internet and the overwhelming support being thrown her way, it looks like Jenny should still have a job next week ( YOU LISTENING LORNE?). The young comedienne is hilarious and if utilized correctly could bring a real freshness to the show and possibly a whole new audience. Overall, this season premiere was “ehh” worthy and if it wasn’t for the slip, all we would be talking about is how surprisingly funny Megan Fox is, how old U2 is and where did the quality sketches go? Take a cue from one time SNL cast member and NBC funny guy Jimmy Fallon – create returning bits that poke fun of stuff going on TODAY. SNL you need to understand there is more than politics to mock. Let’s parody internet fads, bad reality shows, or how about even some tea bagging? If you are just going to rely on faux infomercials and shorts this season, the only thing the viewers will be tuning in to see is if there are any more f_ck ups.

UPDATE: According to Popeater, Lorne Michaels has no interest in firing Jenny Slate. WOOHOO!! Michaels said “It has to be an actor’s worst nightmare. Your first time on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and this happens. You could sense the mortification in the studio.” NBC spokeswoman Sharon Pannozzo also confirmed that Slate will continue to have a job at SNL. Me thinks Slate just got a free pass to be hysterical the rest of the season. Hopefully, she can be fully utilized in weeks to come. This is very good news.

Cooper discussed Heidi Pratt’s “performance” at the Miss Universe pageant and at first it reminded me that that crap fest was actually still on air, but it also cut through the BS that seems to follow Heidi and her flesh-colored beard having hubby. Heidi’s little song and dance, which featured her within a G & G version of the sexy bejeweled nude ensemble Britney rocked a bazillion years ago at the MTV’s VMAs. It was also a travesty to the word “performance”. So Cooper took to the airwaves to comment on Heidi’s appreciation for her own mediocre showing, her thanking God for the embarrassing show and the question on all of our minds, how is this person famous?

“If God had the time to work on this production, if this is the best God can do, then we’re all in trouble.” Quotes like this is the number one reason to love Anderson Cooper.

During times of political crisis and annoying Fox News pundits shouting about being persecuted, the only people to really put all of this in perspective are the geniuses behind The Daily Show. In last night’s episode, Stewart dissected Fox News’s recent appreciation of protesters, love of freedom of speech and being number one in the cable news game and only one thing could explain ALL OF THIS. Obviously, Fox News are the New Liberals. Thank you Jon Stewart and your dutiful team who had to not only sit though hours of Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly going on about the “spirit of protest” and partisan politics. I would have thrown up after only a few moments of watching them.

At this point, after all the hoopla, I would have preferred some sex than the lame stoned idiots running around naked.

And in other stupid celebrity news, Patricia Heaton, well known big mouth and Conservative, went on “Who Wants to Be A Millionaire” Celebrity Edition and tortured my brain cells trying to do simple math question that could have been answered by a 8 year old in a second. After Heaton rambles for awhile about how Middle America is better than the rest of America, she needs to call her European husband and take five minutes to do the math in this question:

I, like many people with half a brain, was disappointed with the overwhelming media coverage these two nitwits were receiving last week and spoke up about it on this site. I found myself hoping that one entertainment news organization would hold themselves accountable for this mess and begin fixing the situation and surprisingly E! did it. I personally voted in the online poll, because as a freelance writer and blogger, I have the time to do these sort of things and the response was so overwhelming the site freaked out twice. And when I re-tweeted Mark Malkin’s post on the subject, I had various people out there agreeing with me and stating that if E! does it, other networks will simply have to follow. Hopefully, this will not allow Heidi to start another publicity campaign based on her “feeling attacked”. And I also hope that E! sticks to its word and barring any actual news revolving the couple, i.e. pregnancy, jobs, zombie attacks, we will not be hearing about them in the near future. So Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, Star magazine, US Weekly, etc., when will you be following E!’s lead?

I usually avoid Heidi and Spencer like the plague, but after yesterdays full on assault by these two through various media outlets I cannot hold back! Yesterday the two sores appeared on various talk show programs to promote who knows what to who knows what audience. Their first stop was at “The Today Show” and they were interviewed by the jovial Al Roker, who seems to be the only journalist in the game to call them out on their BS. He asked the two if they were proud of their antics on “I’m a Celebrity…” and other questions to make them look like fools. Unfortunately,the couple were two stupid to get it and picked up a trick of Former Miss California Carrie Prejean that if a man is asking you something and not being OVERTLY nice to you he must be a sexist pig. Here’s the majority of the interview. Roker was quite honest with the couple and questioning of what seems like only fame whore tendencies. And apparently that was too much because the PR machine that is Speidi riled themselves up in a frenzy over Roker being super mean to the couple, but specifically Heidi.

Then the couple found their way to couches on “The View”, in which the couple went on a kiss and make up parade. Elizabeth Hasselbeck asked the couple about Christianity, which is another ridiculous layer to the couple’s persona, but really didnt probe. Whoopi finally let them know this nonsense will not go much further than lame dry shampoo products and that they need to find a new schtick since the American public is beyond bored. They also asked Heidi how she can’t take nudie pictures for Playboy, yet call herself a conservative Christian, which she informed the ladies that the pics were tasteful. And then NBC continued the media torture with having the duo visit with Jimmy Fallon, where they continued to create controversy over absolutely nothing. They also complained about their “torture” during their stint in Costa Rica on “I’m a Celebrity…”. And apparently the controversy was actually that the other cast members didn’t allow Heidi to hock her dry shampoo on the show. Ugh…watch it get worse, where the couple continues to use the devil and Christianity card.

And then I woke up this morning to this “release” the couple gave to US Weekly “forgiving” Al Roker for his simple questions yesterday that offended the two bimbos.

They are also beyond disrespectful to a man who has been in the public eye and the media for over 25 years. Its annoying to watch people this insipid treating Roker in this manner in search for publicity. Don’t worry though because Al is defending his interview with the two morons.

Really when will the veil be pulled back from this duo to prove that they are the most famous pranksters the media has seen in years? And if this isn’t all dramatic theater tricks, when will they go away? I can not take this any longer.
