Two weeks ago I told you all about the awesome HomeGoods and BlogHer event I was going to and I have to say it was a great time! Let’s get right to it,HomeGoods has everything. And they certainly know how to treat a blogger well. I was a bit bummed to get a chance to shop there at their special event right after my wedding (literally three weeks) because I just got almost everything I could have wanted for my home courtesy of bridal showers and wedding gifts. The newest NYC location was super easy to get to,and we were welcomed right away with a representative and a gift card for my mother and myself. And hat tip to HomeGoods for letting me bring my mom,who just helped me plan for my wedding,as she is a huge HomeGoods fan. I looked at it as some serious bonding time, and doesn’t love some shopping quality time with mom. Since I had only a few must-pick ups at the store,I wanted to really see what they had to offer before settling on the best way to tackle this shopping excursion.
The selection was great, with brand names at great prices but as opposed to similar stores that offer bargains on top brands,it didn’t feel picked over nor leftover merchandise. It was awesome to go shopping with a bunch of other lifestyle bloggers because we all chatted about what we were getting throughout the party and I picked up a few ideas from some of the ladies. I knew I wanted to check out the linens section as we were still in need of a lighter comforter for the upcoming summer months. I thought it would be cool too to see if there were any throw pillows to go with my brand new couch and some smaller pots to complete my kitchen collection. There were a handful of things that caught my eye that might not be considered necessities, but I wanted them anyway. My mother picked up two new sheet sets for her new bedroom set and a few kitchen items, including some cool cooking mixes.
I left with two new sets of pillows,a light comforter for the warm months,a serving bowl for events and I still have some money left over to spend on my next trip there. Since my house is already chock full of the house ware gifts from my bridal shower and wedding, there was a ton of stuff I would have a loved to have picked up but just didn’t really have the space for it or someone had just bought it for me. There were some great pieces and table settings that I would like to go back and pick up once my husband and I settle on the right dining table! And I am still thinking about a pirate head made out of coconuts –I mean not sure its a necessity,but…..
I can’t wait to head back to HomeGoods again, but the next time I find myself there I will come way of automobile –lugging all that stuff on a subway was NO FUN! My mom loved the event, her goodies and I think for the first time really understood the role of a blogger. YEAH! Want to find the HomeGoods closest to you so you can get your shop on to? My friend clued me in on the great deals at home goods. Now I can officially say,I’m addicted to the store. I bought some outdoor solar lights for my deck. They are awesome. Definitely makes me want to go back and see what other little jewels I can find.
I am a newlywed trying to furnish our master bedroom on a budget. I have my eye on two beautiful nightstands at my local HomeGoods that I would love to get!!
Ohmygoodness I go to HomeGoods on a regular basis and suggest it to everyone –I buy sheets, blankets, dish towels, pillows, glasses, dishes, pots, plant pots, picture frames and many (non!) necessities too…Always get everything on my list and (essential!) extras too!
Home goods is growing on me as place to find linens and kitchen gadgets.
What a great giveaway and thank you for the chance to win. My husband and I have only been married for two years and we had a small destination wedding in Hawaii so we didn’t get a lot of wedding gifts and are in desperate need of some serving plates/dishes! My Homegoods has beautiful white ones that are calling my name
I’d get a new comforter and sheet set.
