When it comes to Diablo Cody,Im still on the fence. While I love the fact that she is bringing us a look into the lives of pregnant teens,moms suffering with multiple personalities and teens with real angst,my one major gripe is her dialogue. Its always been a bit too hokey for me,teetering on Kevin Smith territory. But I have to say dialogue is rarely an issue in the teen horror world,so its interesting her next stop would be horror. We have been hearing about “Jennifer’s Body”,her departure from family dramedy to straight up old school horror,for awhile now,with cast changes and the typical hype anything having to do with Diablo receives.

Today,the “filmakers”released their trailer to Shock Till You Drop,with the following statement:Fox is putting a trailer of Jennifer’s Body in front of Bruno this Friday. Great,right? Only problem is it’s not our trailer. It’s kind of a straight horror preview and while we’re sure it’ll appeal to many of you,we wanted to make sure you guys got to see our cut …Lets call it the “filmmaker’s cut”. We think it captures the comedy and scares of the horror films we grew up on –a kind of nostalgia for when horror films were fun. Can’t wait to show you the whole film…In the meantime,here’s the red band trailer we wanted our fans to see.”—Karyn Kusama,Diablo Cody,and Jason Reitman

From the trailer,I think I might love this movie. I adore campy horror flicks,where the premises are ridiculous and it seems that teen lust will deem everyone straight to hell. I definitely don’t think its as dark as something like “The Craft”,but its interesting to see the two main protagonists in a horror film women. Megan Fox looks credible in the film and anything with Amanda Seyfried will be viewed by me at least once. Hopefully,this film will be able to make sense of the whole Fox pandemonium going on in America for those of us who dont want to bone her. Enjoy!
