Oh hey, here’s a refreshing idea:Single sad lady in her late thirties with a great job, wonderful friends and NO MAN + One night stand with a dysfunctional younger loser = tiresome cougar/”Knocked Up”storyline told over a laugh track. YUCK! Personally,I am beyond sick of the title cougar and bored with the idea that sophisticated women are so desperately starving for male attention that they would sleep with anything that moves and NOT protect themselves. And on top of that, when confronted with the choice of terminating a pregnancy or giving birth to a child with the aid of a virtual stranger, they automatically take the “lets have a baby”route. While I am not stupid and realize that abortion doesn’t really push a storyline forward,I can’t see why this story line is at all attractive. “Knocked Up”was charming, but does it really need to be retold in the eyes of a CBS cougar comedy? Apparently,it does in this stale and ridiculous comedy “Accidentally on Purpose”,starring Jenna Elfman. Seriously, how does this get the okay at a network? How does Elfman continue to get work when she has played the same character for years? Really Fall TV is hoping to set older women back by decades with these nonsensical cougar messes.
