Leave it up to “The Daily Show” and Samantha Bee to really delve deep into the idea of Long Island seceding from New York state. As a person who comes from Long Island and technically still lives there,this ridiculous conversation has been going on for years. Between Bee’s meetings with a LI senator and legislator,one who apparently lives in the real world and one who can’t wait to pick a state bird,we really do find the brightest examples of why its perfectly acceptable to mock this “strong island”.
Please bask in all the bad tattoos,AXE body sprays and Jaeger Bombs that make up the lovely island of long. It truly is a “melting pot of marinara”. Oh and can we please give this woman her own show?
