So normally, I wouldn’t post anything about reality couple du jour the Gosselins, but this is almost too good to pass up. The couple have their own show on TLC, which follows their lives and the trials that come along with 8 kids, made up by a set of twins and sextuplets. Its not really my cup of reality tea, but America seems enamored with them and since word got out that there was shockingly trouble within the couple’s marriage, they have become tabloid fodder and graced the cover of various tabloids and entertainment weeklies, like US Weekly and People, to name a few. America seems to think Kate is one righteous jerk, picking on her husband and being quite demanding. I can’t imagine a woman who has eight children under the age of 8 being all sunshine and roses personally, but I guess this chick brings it to another level. From what I have seen of the show, she is not that warm to her husband, but seems to be on alright, yet strict mother. But I can only assume with eight children, you need to make sure everyone knows their place and boundaries. So I might have to play devil’s advocate with the following video that shows Kate denying water to one of her kids during a break in what looks like a very long day with TV interviews.
As I said, I’ll play devil’s advocate and believe that Kate said no to one, so she didnt have to say no to seven others. But as to put it in the words of “Mean Girls”, it was pretty bitchy for this woman to specifically request a bottle of water, after hearing her kids beg for some and then drink one sip in front of their faces. I’m sure this clip will make the rounds and everyone will begin screaming again about this woman and how her kids are being tortured in the name of fame, but I sort of see just a bitchy mom here, not a kid abuser. Am I alone?
