The Tribeca Film Festival can not get here soon enough so I can finally see “Whatever Works”,the new comedy written and directed by Woody Allen and starring Larry David. In two words,it will be sheer bliss for this neurotic obsessive. Allen and David discussed their working together with “The New York Observer” and Allen said Larry wasn’t much different than some of the actresses he has worked with in the past.
Here is what Allen had to say about working with Larry David..
“I’d always been a fan. … I asked him to do it,and he said,‘But I can’t act! I can only do what I do,I’m not an actor, you’ll be disappointed,’” said Mr. Allen. “You know, those are the ones who can always do it. The ones that tell you how great they are can never do it. Larry is all,‘I can’t do it. I can’t do it,’ but when it came time to do it,right out of the box,he did it. And not just the comedy, which I expected, but all the other things he had to do which required acting and emotions and being touching and all that—he did that, too.”
“Whatever Works”,which also stars Evan Rachel Wood and Patricia Clarkson, opens the film festival on April 22nd,and hits theaters nationwide in June.

I can’t wait to see this one! Larry David is genius, and with Patricia Clarkson and Kristen Johnson, wow –this could be a great flick. (Only way it could get better is if there’s a cameo for a Boston terrier.)
