Tatum O’Neal, my little darling and Oscar winner, A Paper Life. The daughter of Ryan O’Neal, best known for Love Story, his string of movie hits in 1970’s and his tumultuous relationship with Farrah Fawcett, was insanely jealous of her Oscar winning performance in Paper Moon, which he costarred with his ten year old daughter in.

She reported physical abuse from Ryan and direct emotional abuse, when he would constantly side with girlfriends and acquaintances over his young daughter. Tatum’s relationship was even more dysfunctional with her mother and she was constantly traveling from one place to another with her younger brother Griffin, who also has a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, to get away from their mother and father and find safety. Tatum followed up from her fall from grace with a marriage to tennis bad boy John McEnroe in the late 1980’s and the couple divorced after six years of pain and three children. Tatum is now in her 40’s and has been apparently clean of drugs for two years now, which is what she told the arresting officers last night. I do hope that this is true and somehow, this was all a big mistake, but unfortunately, it seems that O’Neal has had way too many run ins with drugs for one lifetime.

PS… Lindsay Lohan please please please take note of this story. This could easily end up being you and I say this with all sincerity and respect. Stick with Sam Ronson and make sure you keep your nose clean. I can’t watch another spunky freckled star fall into the abyss like this.
